Adding a spouse's family to Geni

I wonder if anyone else has thought about this. I have extensive info on my husband's family, but I don't really know them. I've been thinking about adding them to my Geni tree, and then wondering if I should just start a different tree for his family and keep mine separate. I'm a bit concerned since my family doesn't know them about privacy issues etc. Have you added your spouse's family into your tree? Any thoughts on this Pro or Con?

I wonder if you merge trees, how do you un-merge them, if needed.

It looks like I might be the only great grandma on here.
I started my family tree for my almost brand new great granddaughter, so I added my ex spouse and as many of his family as I could remember. They are her blood relatives after all, and they are not likely to add anything themselves.

And yes, I love Geni!

Hi Linda,

There is no rule for adding a spouse's family to Geni, you can add them in your family tree, once your spouse is a member of it, or just start a new one BUT the problem with starting a new one is that, in case you decide that you would like to merge the trees, AS FAR AS I KNOW this feature isn't available yet. Anyway, I know that this is one of the most important points that Geni staff would be working to solve and they advised that it shouldn't take too long. Actually, I believe that we should check their forum, maybe this "problem" is already solved...

Regarding the security point, Geni staff was also adding more security options, so we should be able to choose who would be allowed to view our profile or not... what would give your family members the possibility of blocking people, from your spouse's family for example, to view their profiles.
