Share 'How can you keep family trees separated?'

I am part of two large family trees. They don't know or care much about each other, but receive lots of information from geni.com about each other. Can the two trees be separated even though I am part of each one? I have tried to find a way to take myself out of both trees, but don't see how I can do that either! I'm stuck and getting blame from both sides!
